Dr. Parminder J Singh Is An Orthopaedic And Trauma Surgeon Based In East Melbourne

Dr Parminder J Singh is an experienced and accomplished orthopaedic and trauma surgeon based in East Melbourne. With a reputation for his knowledgeable and empathetic approach, Parminder recognises the importance of choosing the right doctor for your treatment and takes the time to discuss all your options with you to ensure the right outcome.

A member of Hip Arthroscopy Australia (HAA), Dr Singh has a particular interest in Hip and Knee Arthroscopy as well as Joint Replacement surgery.

Dr. Parminder Singh is currently performing his surgery at St Vincent’s Private East Melbourne, Epworth Richmond Private Hospital, Epworth Eastern Private Hospital and Waverley Private Hospital.

In addition to his surgical commitments, Dr. Parminder Singh is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University in Melbourne, Director of Orthopaedic Research and Education at Eastern Health and is on the Editorial Chairman for the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy.

St George’s Hospital Medical

Dr. Parminder J Singh was born in the United Kingdom and qualified as a doctor St George’s Hospital Medical School in London in 1996 obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

Royal College Of Surgeons

Following this he completed a surgical training programme in London and obtained his membership to the Royal College of Surgeon (MRCS) in 2001.

Master Of Surgery

Parminder subsequently undertook a Research Registrar position for two years providing supportive research on the design and early clinical evaluation of new hip replacements and completed his Master of Surgery (MS) thesis at the University of London under the supervision of Professor Richard Field.​

Oxford Orthopaedic Training

Parminder was appointed onto the prestigious Oxford Specialist Registrar Orthopaedic Training Programme in 2003 and completed his Orthopaedic Training in 2008 obtaining his Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth).

Oxford Student Lecturer

Whilst completing his Orthopaedic training in Oxford, he was also an Honorary Oxford Student Lecturer appointed by the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and was also the Oxford University Varsity Soccer match doctor.

1st Fellowship Training

Dr. Parminder J Singh has been interested in both bone and muscle sparing surgery for many years.

Parminder undertook two fellowships in this particular area of surgery in Melbourne and London. In 2008 to 2009, Parminder completed a Hip Arthroscopy and Anterior Muscle Sparing Total Hip Replacement Fellowship in Melbourne with one of the highest volume hip arthroscopy surgeons in the world Professor John O’Donnell (President of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy 2013-2014).

2nd Fellowship Training

In 2009, Parminder went to the UK to undertake his second fellowship. The fellowship was completed at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre (EOC) in Epsom.

The EOC was the highest volume elective joint replacement centre in the United Kingdom. The fellowship was in Hip Arthroscopy and Bone Conserving Joint Replacement Surgery with Professor Richard Field.

Dr. Parminder Singh was appointed a Consultant at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre in 2009 working closely with Professor Richard Field (President of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy 2016-2017).
